JAMMU: Kalidhar Forest Range team on Friday retrieved 4 Kanal 8 Marlas at block Panjgrain in Dhanna village of Tehsil Akhnoor.
According to a report, a Forest department team headed by Surinder Nath Range Officer Kalidhar along with Block Officer Panjgrian and field staff removed the encroachment from Compartment No. 37/K of Panjgrain Block at village Dhanna and retrieved 4 Kanals 8 Marlas of Forest land from the illegal possession of Pawan Kumar, son of Biji Ram, resident of Dhanna Tehsil Akhnoor. The whole operation was carried out under the supervision Dr. A.D Singh DFO Jammu.
The DFO Jammu informed that the Forest team has to face stiff resistance while dismantling the under construction structure at the aforesaid spot. The operation was supervised by Naveen Kumar Shah, Conservator of Forests East Circle Jammu.
The Divisional Forest Officer Jammu said that the department is taking measures to prevent encroachment on Forest Land.
“The offenders are eager to encroach upon forest land however, the field staff is vigilant against such moves and is on the job to remove the encroachments”, he said adding that the anti-encroachment drive in the Jammu Forest Division shall be carried out unabated.
