RAJOURI: Police on Sunday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by arresting two smugglers and rescued four bovines.
According to a report, a party led by In-Charge Police Post Chingus SI Mohd Kabir under the supervision of SSP Rajouri Dr. Mohd Haseeb Mughal laid a Naka at Chiti Bakri near Peer Badesar Bhimber Gali Border Road on Sunday and seized four bovines from a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration No. JK11A-1747 which was on its way from Lam Nowshera to Poonch via Peer Badesar Bhimber Gali Road without any permission.
Police arrested two bovine smugglers namely Gul Hussain son of Dil Mohd and driver of the vehicle namely Dhara Singh son of Ishar Singh both residents of Lam.
The vehicle was also seized by the police and a case under FIR No. 222/2015 under section 188, 3 PCA RPC was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
