SRINAGAR: Four persons were on Sunday arrested in connection with illegal construction of a palatial house on a temple trust land in Hyderpora area of the city.
“We have arrested four persons who were carrying out illegal construction of a two-storey house in Gulberg Colony of Hyderpora,” District Magistrate of Srinagar Faroq Ahmad Shah said.
Shah said the action was part of an ongoing drive to remove illegal constructions as well as encroachments from the city, especially those which have come up along the banks of water bodies.
Last week, the authorities demolished a cowshed constructed on the banks of Doodhganga in Barzullah area of the city while other encroachers were given time after they assured to remove their buildings voluntarily.
