JAMMU: Cant Satwari XI defeated Singh Akhnoor XI by 26 runs and won the league match of the Third New Year Masters T20 Cricket Cup, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department at Parade Ground, here on Thursday.
Earlier, Batting first, Cant Satwari XI scored 140 runs in 20 overs for the loss of nine wickets. Narinder (35), Hardeep Singh (22) and Vinay (16) runs were the main scorers. For Singh Akhnoor XI, Sham and Rajinder clinched two wickets each while Sonu, Deepak, Malditta and Vinay claimed one wicket.
In reply, Singh Akhnoor XI was bowled out on 114 runs in 19.1 overs. Malditta made 52 runs and Rajinder added 17 to the total.
Danny, Bansi Lal and Narinder picked two wickets each while Rajkumar, Peter and Hardeep Singh shaed apiece. Narinder was adjudged Man of the Match.
Today’s match was officiated by Sadiq, Sandeep and Vinod.
In today’s match, Ashwani Khajuria, Regional Transport Officer Jammu was the Chief Guest who was accompanied by R.K Bhat SSP and Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and Coordinator of the tournament introduced with the participating teams.
