37 cases disposed off in Lok Adalats

JAMMU: A permanent Lok Adalat was held in the Bank Court, Jammu with regard to bank cases. The Lok Adalat was held under the supervision of District and Sessions Judge, Jammu Sanjay Gupta. The Bench constituted for the cases listed in the said Lok Adalat was of Additional District Judge, Jammu Ashok Kumar Shavan.
In the said Lok Adalat both pre-litigation and post- litigation cases were taken up. The post litigation cases taken up were 42 and out of which 27 cases have been disposed off. In the Lok Adalat besides litigants, advocates also participated. The total recovery effected was Rs 2,74,43,896 from the post litigant from defaulters.
Meanwhile, a Lok Adalat was also held at Court Complex of Sub-Judge Nowshera under the chairmanship of Sandeep Kour, Chairman Teshil Legal Services Committee Nowshera and was assisted by Advocate Supriya Sharma. In the Lok Adalat 20 cases were taken up out of which seven criminal cases and three civil cases were disposed off by the way of amicable settlement. All the Bar Members and large litigants participated in the Lok Adalat.
