36 bovines rescued, 8 held in Jammu

JAMMU: Police on Wednesday rescued 36 bovine animals and arrested eight smugglers in this connection.
According to reports, a team of Police Post Sidhra under the jurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota while on Naka duty intercepted three Tata mobiles ( JK02AX/1497, JK02BF/1486 and JK02BD/ 5607). On search of these vehicles, police rescued 14 bovine animals from the clutches of Bagh Ali, son of Mohd Ismail, Javed Ahmed, son of Babu Din, Zahoor Hussain, son of Shah Din, Javed Ahmed, son of Noor Lai all residents of Katyal R.S Pura, Shakeel Ahmed, son of Jaan Mohd and Mohd Asif, son of Mohd Raqib, both residents of Dooru, Anantnag.
Meanwhile, a team of Police Station Jhajjar Kotli rescued 22 bovine animals from Muneer Ahmed, son of Sattu, resident of Banara, Udhampur and Nazir Hussain, son of Sher Mohd, resident of Malik Market Narwal Jammu, who were carrying these animals in vehicles JK14A 8391 and JK02AH 5977 without any permission. The vehicles were seized and accused arrested. In this regard, police has registered three different cases under relevant sections of law and investigation of these cases is going on.
