RAMBAN: Continuing with its special drive to curb the menace of bovine smuggling by Distt Police Ramban, an attempt on this was foiled by District Police Ramban at Ramban.
During the intervening night of 3rd -4th March 2016, a Naka was established at Gool Ramban link road on specific information developed by the sleuths of district special branch. During checking of vehicles, 2 Tata Mahindera (JK19-1846 and JK19-1611) were stopped. During the Naka checking, one of the driver of Tata Mahindra, sensing trouble, escaped from the spot leaving behind his vehicle. It was found that 21 bovines were loaded in a cruel manner being smuggled from Gool to Kashmir Valley.
On this, the bovines were rescued and driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Rafiq son of Abdul Rashid resident of Kanga, Ramban was arrested on the spot whereas other driver who escaped from the spot has been identified as Bashir Ahmed of Kanga. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 39 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Batote. Police team headed by Inspr Pardeep Sharma, SHO Police Station Ramban made the arrests under the supervision of Rafiq Choudhary, Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban and Randeep Kumar, Sr. Superintendent of Police.
CHENANI: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 15 bovines and arresting two smugglers.
According to a report, Chenani Police during the intervening night of 3rd-4th March 2016 arrested two persons namely Mudassir Ahmed son of Ali Mohd and Basis Rasheed son of Abdul. Rasheed both residents of Nowpura, Kulgam and rescued 15 bovines from their clutches. A case vide FIR No.21/16 under section 188 RPC,3PCA Act was registered at Police Station Chenani. Police team was led by Insp. Mahesh Sharma SHO Police Station Chenani under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma, Adl.SP Mohan Lal Kaith and SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhry.
