JAMMU: The Volleyball Association of J&K (VAJK) and in collaboration with J&K Sports Council is all set to host three-day 35th J&K UT Junior Volleyball Championship for boys and girls at M.A Stadium Jammu from March 29 to 31, 2024.
The championship would be an eye opener for volleyball lovers of the Union Territory of J&K to witness the latest techniques/talents of volleyball players.
During the championship various aspects of Khelo India, My Youth-My Pride, Drug-de-Addiction, Save water etc. would be focused among the youth in general and volleyball players in particular.
According to Kuldip Magotra, Chief Executive Officer VAJK, over 30 teams all across JKUT districts are participating in boys and girls section in this championship.
The players born on or after January 1, 2005 shall be eligible to participate in this championship, he added.
“All participants should submit the age certificate indicating the date of birth issued by the head of institute and pasted recent photographs attested by him/her. In case of private School the certificate should be countersigned by ZEO/CEO concerned,” Kuldip said and asked the players to produce an identity card with photograph attested by the District Secretary, along with the original Date of Birth certificate/ Aadhaar Card and passport.
The participants have been advised to appear before age screening committee on March 28 2024 at 5:00 PM at M.A Stadium Jammu.
In all as many as 400 players/ Officials drawn from all districts of JKUT are likely to participate in this championship for which playgrounds have been setup at M.A Stadium Jammu and Play Field Shastri Nagar Jammu, Magotra said. He further added that the Association shall provide free boarding / lodging and transport facilities to the teams and officials during the championship.
The Championship will be played on league-cum-knockout basis.
