BANIHAL: A team of State pollution Control Board (PCB) on Saturday conducted a surprise check in Banihal town and Seized 35 Kgs of Polythene.
The checking squad led by PCB Divisional officer Ramban, Kuldeep Bhan , Naib Tehsildar, Abdul Salam, Inspector, Bahar Ahmed Giri, ASI, Banihal Ghulam Mohd Wani and Supervisor MC Najamudin carried out extensive checking in the market.
During the drive, Bhan sensitized the shopkeepers and local people about the hazardous impact of polythene in damaging the environment. He said that similar seizure drives shall be carried out in the future to curb illegal sale of polythene in the district.
