34th District Volleyball C’ship commences in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: District Development Council (DDC), Chairperson, Udhampur Lal Chand in presence of Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Krittika Jyotsna on Wednesday declared open the three-day long 34th District Volleyball Championship, organized by Volleyball Association of District Udhampur (VADU) under the aegis of volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir in the premises of Brahmrishi Bawra Shanti Vidya Peeth, here.
In championship different teams in men as well as women category from various parts of the districts are participating.
According to handout issued by the the VADU district president Raj Guru said that chamiponship was declares opened by chairman DDC Lal Chand was chief guest while deputy commissioner Kritik Jyotsna who was guest of honor.
In the opening of inaugural exhibition match, both teams were introduced with the chief guest and guest of honor along with association members. In brief address
District President, Raj Guru informed that ten teams from men section and six teams from women section are participating in the championship.
“Matches for women section shall be played on December 15, 2022 in the premises of Happy Model School Udhampur.” he added.
Today’s results: Roun Domail beat Bhaskar Club by 2-0 (25-26, 25-18); CVC beat RVC by 2-0 (25-19, 25-18); Ram Nagar defeated Barta Club by 2-0 (25-13, 25-23); Ram Nagar beat Tikri Club by 2-0; Chriyai defeated Roun Domail by 2-1; UVC defeated APS by 2-0 (25-16, 25-2).
While addressing the gathering, Chief Guest, Lal Chand and Guest of Honour, Krittika Jyotsna highlighted the importance of sports and exhorted the players to participate in sports activities as it help in developing skills of team work and high discipline among youth.
Today’s matches were officiated by Kuldeep Sharma, Vinod Sharma, Naveen Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Vinod Khajuria, Rajesh Kumar, Sanjeer Verma, Bhopinder Singh and Suresh Pal.
All matches were witnessed by the prominent persons Ashwani Kumar Principal BBSVP school, Mahadeep Singh along with senior citizens club team. Dr. Sumer Khajuria, Mohd Saleem Naib Tehsildar, Daleep Kumar CEO MCU, Pawan Kumar, Ashok Padha Mulkh Raj, Mulkh Raj and Sunil Khajuria.
