34 bovines rescued, smuggler held

RAMBAN: Police on Friday foiled a bid of bovine smuggling by rescuing 34 bovines and arresting three smugglers.
According to a report, on specific information, a Police Party led by Inspr Manzoor Kohli, SHO Police Station Chanderkot under the supervision of SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar, laid a special Naka at Chanderkot and intercepted a truck bearing regd no. JK02AC – 6922 which was on its way from Jammu to Srinagar. During checking of vehicle, 22 bovines were found loaded in the truck in a cruel manner. Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Salim son of Ab. Rshid resident of Poni Patta Reasi was arrested and a case under FIR No.33 /2015 section 188 RPC 3PCA Act was registered at Police Station Chanderkot.
Meanwhile, Thanamandi Police led by SDPO Thanamandi Iftqar Talib laid a Naka at Thanamandi and seized 12 bovines from a Truck vehicle bearing registration No. JK11-2388 which were on its way from Rajouri to Srinagar via Thanamandi illegal smuggled toward Srinagar without any permission.
Police arrested two bovine smugglers namely Mohd Rafter son of Mohd Bashir resident of Hasplote, Thanamandi and Mohd Maqbool son of Raj Mohd Kallar, Rajouri. The vehicles have been seized by the police. A case under FIR No. 79/2015 section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Thanamandi.
