JAMMU: The BOPEE has successfully conducted hassle free CET, 2016 in which record 33,258 candidates appeared in 54 Test Centres (34 Centres at Srinagar and 20 at Jammu) for which 365 and 298 venues in Srinagar and Jammu cities were utilized respectively.
The BOPEE for the first time constituted additional Test Centres both at Jammu and Srinagar including Higher Secondary Schools of Jawahar Nagar, Rajbagh, Burn Hall, Biscoe and Mallinson in Srinagar and GHSS Bazar-i- Qasban, Rehari and Eidgah Road Jammu to accommodate candidates besides increasing seating capacity of the existing centres.
Meanwhile, a strong contingent of more than 4,500 committed supervisory staff engaged at different Centres, Government Observers, Members of Monitoring Squad of Universities of Kashmir, Jammu, SKAUST (Kashmir and Jammu), CUK and Principals of Govrnment Colleges , Deputy Commissioners/ Additional Deputy Commissioners deployed by Divisional Commissioners Srinagar and Jammu, Chief Superintendants, Coordinators/Control Room Incharges/Officials of Collection Centres of Jammu and Kashmir, Controller of Examination of Universities of Jammu and Kashmir, NIT, Registrar SKAUST-K and Jammu and staff of BOPEE, non teaching staff of Kashmir University, Jammu, the Faculty, both teaching as well as non teaching, of SKAUST did a herculean job in successfully conducting CET-2016.
Besides, to ensure smooth conduct of CET -2016, Secretary ARI, A.K Gupta visited a good number of Test Centres at Srinagar on both days of the test.
