SAMBA: Police on Tuesday foiled five bovine smuggling by rescuing 31 bovines and arresting four smugglers in Samba and Rajouri Districts.
According to a report, a police party headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib, SHO Police Station Samba intercepting a Truck (JK02S/9755), coming from Kathua side and found it loaded with 13 bovines which were being illegally transported without permission.
Accordingly, accused person namely Farooq Ahmed Dar son of Gh. Hassan Dar resident of Bypass Batote District Ramban was arrested, bovine animals were rescued, vehicle seized and a case vide FIR No. 61/2016 under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Samba.
In another incident, a police party headed by Inspector Yashpal Jamwal, SHO Police Station Bari-Brahmna intercepted a Tata Mobile (JK02AK/6988), coming from Kathua side carrying three bovines. On seeing the Naka, the driver of the said vehicle fled away under the cover of darkness, leaving the vehicle on spot. Accordingly, the bovines were rescued, vehicle was seized and a case vide FIR No. 43/2016 under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Bari-Brahmna and investigation carried on.
Similarly police team of Police Station Bari-Brahmna foiled another bovine smuggling bid by rescuing four bovines. However accused persons fled away under the cover of darkness who were on foot. A case vide FIR No. 42/2016 under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Bari-Brahmna and investigation started.
Another police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Suraj Pathania, SHO Ghagwal arrested one Arshad son of Fareed resident of Mantalai Teshi Chenani District Udhampur who was carrying nine bovines in his truck without registration number. Accordingly, the involved vehicle was seized and a case vide FIR No. 33/2016 under section 188 RPC, 2/3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal.
Meanwhile, Rajouri Police led by SHO Police Station Sunderbani Inspector R. S Parihar on a specific information laid Naka at ITI Sunderbani. During Naka, police rescued two bovines and arrested two smugglers namely Mohd Sharief son of Mir Mohd resident of Gran Kalakote and Umesh son of Kewal Krishan resident of resident of Thanda Pani.
A case vide FIR No.21/2016 under section 188 RPC was registered at Police Station Sunderbani.
