KATHUA: Police seized 30 liters of illicit liquor and destroyed 400 liters of Desi Lahan in successful raids at Kathua and Nagri here on Tuesday.
Reports said that Police parties from Police Station Kathua and Police Post Nagri on specific information conducted raids at Taraf Sanjhi in Kathua and Mirpur Jaggo in Nagri respectively. At Taraf Sanjhi Kathua Police recovered 30 liters of illicit liquor from one Meena, wife of Surinder Kumar, resident of Chak Drab Khan Nagri Kathua.
A case vide FIR No. 99/2016 under Section 48(A) Excise Act was registered at Police Station Kathua. Meanwhile, a Police party from Nagri in another successful raid destroyed 400 liters of Desi Lahan at Mirpur Jaggo and seized apparatus used for distillation from the house of one Rekha Devi, wife of Chand, resident of Mirpur Jaggo. Action under 48 (E) Excise Act has taken against her. Investigations in both the cases have been started.
