UDHAMPUR: Police on Sunday arrested three persons and recovered 1.45 kg poppy straw from their possession.
According to a report, a police party headed by SHO Police Station Udhampur O.P Chib laid a Nakka near Jakheni Chowk on Jammu Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a Mahindra vehicle (PB01F-4289) which was on its way to Punjab from Srinagar. During search, police recovered 1.45kg poppy straw kept inside the vehicle and arrested three persons. Accused have been identified as Lakhbir Singh alia Lakha son of Darshan Singh, Jatinder Singh son of Inderjit Singh and Prem Singh son of Mukund Singh, all residents of Ludhiana (Punjab). Police has registered a case under FIR No. 129/16 section 8/15 NDPS Act.
