RAMBAN: Police on Saturday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing three bovines and arresting two smugglers.
According to a report, a police party of Police Station Batote received information from In-Charge Police Post Patnitop that a luxury car had escaped from Patnitop avoiding Naka checking. Accordingly, a special Naka was laid at Baggu Nalla, Batote.
During checking of the vehicles, said car, bearing registration No. PB08AQ-8700, was intercepted. During checking of the vehicle, three animals were found loaded in the dickey of the car in a cruel manner to be smuggled from Jammu to Valley without legal permission.
As such, the driver of the car, namely Nek Mohd son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Ragoora Sidhra, Jammu alongwith his associate namely Salman Ali son of Jamait Ali resident of Duara, Tehsil and District Jammu, was arrested and bovines were rescued.
A case vide FIR No. 34/2016 under section 188 RPC 3 PCA Act was registered against the accused at Police Station Batote. Arrests have been made by Police Party led by Inspr. Sameer Jeelani, SHO Police Station Batote.
