JAMMU: Police on Thursday claimed to have recovered 3.5 quintals of fukki from apple boxes being transported in a lorry in southern Pulwama District.
A police official said that five persons onboard the lorry were arrested and 3.54 quintals hidden in 44 apple boxes was recovered from their possession in Awantipora.
A case FIR number 197 of 2016 under Sections 15/18 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Awantipora. The accused have been identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Bhat, Junaid Ahmad Bhat and Tabik Ahmad Bhat, residents of Charsoo. The official said that all three of them were notorious stone-pelters.
Two more accused were identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar of Larmoo Awantipora and Ajaz Ahmad Kuchay of Hajibal Kakapora.
