2nd J&K Masters Cricket Championship begins

JAMMU: President CCI and J&K Veterans Cricket Association, Arun Gupta inaugurated the second edition of Masters Cricket Championship in presence of DIG Railway Jammu Haseeb Ur Rehman, Rashid Bhat SSP, Rajesh Gill former Ranji player, Avinash Uttam (event coordinators), Ashish Singh M.D. Horizon Group of Companies, Rajesh Gupta Secretary CCI, Amir Almansoor CPO, Vikrant Sharma and DySP Sagar Singh at Country Cricket Stadium Ghrota.
The Championship is being organized by Jammu & Kashmir Veterans Cricket Association under the aegis of Veterans Cricket India and supported by J&K Police.
In the first match, Honey Buzzy Bee Royals defeated BMRC Superkings. Batting first BMRC Superkings was bowled out at 96 runs in 20 overs. Deepak Sharma and Vikas were the main scorers with 45 and 33 respectively. For bowling side, Surinder Kachro grabbed six wickets and Kuldeep took two. In reply Honey Buzzy Bee Royals chased the target in 8.3 overs for the loss of two wickets and won the match by eight wickets. Surinder Kachru was declared Man of the Match for his super bowling.
In another match, WOC Auto Daredevils defeated KAP Smashers by 10 wickets. Batting first, KAP Smashers scored 111 runs for the lost nine wickets in 20 overs. For bowling side, Rajesh Gill, Vikrant Sharma, Shamser Singh and Ravi Choudhary claimed two wickets each while Avinash and Puneet Wattal took one each.
In reply, WOC Auto Daredevils chased the target in 9.5 overs without losing any wicket thus won the match by 10 wickets. Rajesh gill and Raj Kumar scored unbeaten 49 runs each. Rajesh Gill was declared Man of the Match.
In third match, Nishal Jewellers Stars defeated Janta Sports Rangers by 19 runs. Batting first, Nishal Jewellers Stars scored 136 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. In reply, Janta Sports Rangers managed to score 117 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs. Manjeet Singh was declared Man of the Match for scoring 84 runs.
In last match of the day, Sunbro Warriors defeated JKAC Tigers by six wickets. Batting first, JKAC Tigers scored 131 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Ashwani Sharma was declared Man of the Match for scoring 48 runs.
Avinash Uttam conducted the proceedings of the inauguration ceremony and also presented the vote of thanks.
