MENDHAR: In a major crackdown against blackmarketing of CAPD ration, police on Sunday arrested a salesman and confiscated 295 bags of CAPD ration and seized two vehicles.
According to a report, on reliable information SDPO Mendhar Surinder Choudhary along with Tehsildar Mendhar Dr Abdul Khabir and SHO Mendhar Anzir Mir conducted raid in Arai village.
During the raid, police seized the truck (JK02-3667) and arrested driver with 140 bags of rice (CAPD ration) meant for Gursai public.
Salesman Fazal Hussain was also arrested for criminal breach of trust as he was unloading the same in a private shop at Arai instead of Gursai.
Police also seized a truck (JK02R-1149) which was already unloaded by the same salesman.
In all 200 bags of rice, 71 bags of Atta and 24 bags of sugar have been seized. A case under 48/2015 section 409/109 RPC registered against salesman and others.
