29 trucks cross Chakan-da-Bagh

POONCH :With the opening of Chakan-da-Bagh crossing 29 trucks loaded with the items for trade, crossed the Line of Control on Thursday under the supervision of Custodian Tanveer Ahmed.
Twenty five trucks loaded with banana and tamarind worth Rs 79,44,380 were dispatched to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) while four trucks loaded with herbs and potatoes worth Rs 10,26,000 were received from PoK. The gates were opened at 11.25 AM and closed at 11.40 AM.
Meanwhile the traders including Navid Datta, Mohd Asam, Javed Ahmed and Farooq Ahmed held a protest against the checkers of Customs Office at the crossing site who had deliberately started checking the goods during rain which led to great damage and loss to the owner. They alleged that it was an intentional action on the part of these officials because they were refused payment of commission/bribe.
The custodian assured them that the matter will be brought to the notice of DDC and SSP Poonch for necessary action.
