25 injured during BSF recruitment rally

AKHNOOR : As many as 25 candidates including six girls were injured in police Lathi Charge during recruitment rally organized by 89 Battalion of Border Security Force (BSF) at Akhnoor on Friday.
In view of the large participation of the candidates from whole of the Jammu District for recruitment, the BSF authorities allowed 1,000 candidates to enter the main gate for physical check up. The remaining candidates getting impatient tried to enter by crossing the barbed wire upon which the police resorted to cane charge.
During this cane charging 25 candidates were injured which include Sukhbir Singh, Amaarjeet Singh, Jasbir Kour, Ankush Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Surinder Singh, Mohit Kumar, Raj Pal, Jagpal, Minakshi Devi, Varinder Kumar, Neetaka, Romesh Kumar, Rekha Devi and some others. They all were shifted to Sub District Hospital Akhnoor. Sukhbir Singh whose condition was serious was evacuated to Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
