246 new COVID cases, 3 deaths reported in J&K

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported 246 new positive cases of novel Corona, 126 from Jammu division and 120 from Kashmir division besides three deaths.
While two fatalities were reported from Jammu, one virus patient died in Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 387 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 169 from Jammu Division and 218 from Kashmir Division.

India’s COVID active caseload further contracts to 3.52 lakh; lowest in 149 days

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 active cases as on date stands at 3,52,586 comprising 3.57 per cent of the total caseload, the lowest after 149 days, the Union Health Ministry said on Monday.
The total active cases were 3,58,692 on July 18.
The daily recoveries exceeding new cases have ensured a total net reduction of the active caseload. A net decline of 3,960 cases has been recorded in a span of 24 hours.
A total of 27,071 new infections were added to the national tally in a span of 24 hours against 30,695 recoveries registered during the same period. The daily recoveries are exceeding the new cases from the last 17 days, the ministry highlighted.
The total recovered cases are nearing 94 lakh.
“The gap between recoveries and active cases continues to grow and presently stands at 9,035,573,” the ministry said.
It said that 75.58 per cent of the new recovered cases are observed to be concentrated in 10 states and union territories.
Kerala reported the maximum number of single-day recoveries with 5,258 recoveries. Maharashtra follows with 3,083 new recoveries. West Bengal recorded another 2,994 daily recoveries.
About 75.82 per cent of the new cases are concentrated in 10 states and union territories.
Kerala reported the maximum daily new cases numbering 4,698 in a span of 24 hours. Maharashtra recorded 3,717 new cases while West Bengal registered 2,580 fresh infections in a day, the ministry said.
Further 10 states and union territories account for 79.46 per cent of the 336 case fatalities reported in a span of 24 hours.
Around 20.83 per cent of the new fatalities reported are from Maharashtra, which registered 70 deaths. West Bengal and Delhi follow with 47 and 33 new deaths, respectively.
The total coronavirus cases mounted to 98,84,100 with 27,071 infections being reported in a day, while the death toll rose to 1,43,355 with 336 new fatalities, data updated at 8 am showed.

According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 1,16,254 positive cases, 4,558 are Active Positive, 1,09,894 have recovered and 1,802 have died; 650 in Jammu division and 1,152 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 33,66,391 test results available, 32,50,137 samples have been tested as negative till December14, 2020.
Till date 8,31,007 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 22,094 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,558 in isolation and 28,693 in home surveillance. Besides, 7,738,600 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,317 positive cases (including 58cases reported today) with 1,114 Active Positive, 22,770 recovered (including 82 cases recovered today), 433 deaths; Baramulla has 7,746 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 196 Active Positive, 7,381 recovered (including 26 cases recovered today), 169 deaths; Pulwama reported 5,300 positive cases (including 06 case reported today) with 165 active positive cases, 5,047 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today), 88 deaths; Kulgam has 2,628 positive cases (including 01 case reported today) with 67 Active Positive, 2,509 recoveries (including 01 case recovered today), 52 deaths; Shopian has 2,431 positive cases with 102 Active Positive, 2,292 recovered (including 06 case reported today) and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4,667 positive cases (including 08 cases reported today) with 102 Active Positive, 4,483 recovered (including 11cases recovered today), 82 deaths; Budgam has 7,327 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 287 Active Positive and 6,935 recovered (including 29 cases recovered today), 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,372 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 175 Active Positive, 5,109 recovered (including 10cases recovered today), 88 deaths; Bandipora has 4,548 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 113 Active Positive, 4,378 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 57 deaths and Ganderbal has 4,358 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 92 active positive cases, 4,225 recoveries (including 34 cases recovered today)and 41 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 22,257 positive cases (including 87 cases reported today) with 802 active positive cases, 21,123 recoveries (including 59 cases recovered today), 332 deaths; Rajouri has 3,705 positive cases (including 03 cases reported today) with 232 active positive cases, 3,420 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today), 53 deaths; Ramban has 2,040 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 79 active positive, 1,940 recoveries and 21 deaths; Kathua has 3,021 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 117 Active positive, 2,859 recovered (including 05 cases recovered today), 45 deaths; Udhampur has 3,956 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 273 active positive cases, 3,630 recovered (including 55 cases recovered today) and 53 deaths; Samba has 2,627 positive cases (including 04 cases reported today) with 217 Active Positive, 2,376 recoveries and 34 deaths; Doda has 3,296 positive cases with 137 active positive cases, 3,101 recoveries (including 25 cases reco0vered today), 58 deaths; Poonch has 2,420 positive cases (including 00cases reported today) with 30 active positive, 2,368 recoveries and 22 deaths; Reasi has 1,567 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today), 110 active positive, 1,446 recoveries and 11 deaths while Kishtwar has 2,671 positive cases (including 07 cases reported today) with 148 active positive cases and 2,502 recoveries (including 15 cases recovered today) and 21 deaths.
