JAMMU: The Government on Friday appointed 24 District Judges on adhoc basis. “As recommended by the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh and in terms of rule 20 of the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Judicial Service Rules, 2009, sanction is accorded to the adhoc appointment of the 24 Sub-Judges as District Judges (Entry Level),” reads an order issued by Achal Sethi, Secretary, Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, J&K.
As per order, Sub-Judges who has been got adhoc appointment of District Judges include Prem Sagar, Archana Charak, Abdul Qayoom Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Zargar, Yahya Firdous Ahangar, Manoj Parihar, Bashir Ahmad Munshi, Raja Mohd Tasleem, Manjeet Rai, Anjum Ara, Manzoor Ahmad Khan, Rajni Sharma, Madan Lal, Ahsan-Ullah Parvez Malik, Vinod Kumar, Arun Kumar Kotwal, Sushil Singh, Ramesh Lal, Mansoor Ahmad Lone, Parvin Pandoh, Faizan ul Haq Iqbal, Noor Mohd. Mir, Swati Gupta, and Rafia Hassan.
“The adhoc appointments shall be for a period of six months or till the regular selection/appointment is made, whichever is earlier,” it stated and added, “The adhoc appointments shall not confer any right to claim seniority or any other superior right to the adhoc appointees viz-a-vi0z those who may be appointed pursuant to regular selection against director LCE quota; and the adhoc appointees shall be reverted to the cadre of Civil Judges (Sr. Division )/Sub Judges in case they are not found fit for promotion to the post of District Judge after regular selection process or in case sufficient posts are not available for their promotion on regular basis.”
