23 school buildings, 80 more class rooms completed in Ramban

RAMBAN: A total of 23 buildings and 80 additional class rooms were completed under SSA apart from upgrading and strengthening 19 buildings under RMSA till December this year in Ramban district.
This was informed in a meeting convened by District Development Commissioner (DDC) Ramban Mohammad Aijaz with the officers of education and other concerned sectors to review the physical and financial progress of SSA and RMSA.
The meeting was further informed that more than 150 computers and lap tops have been supplied to 20 primary and secondary schools along with other equipment to make them ICT-enabled institutions so that computer based teaching is provided to the students. Divulging on other components, it was also disclosed that funds over 179 lakhs have been expended for providing two set of uniforms to the students from class first to 8th except boys of general category and assessment of disabled children is in progress to screen them for necessary aids and other appliances.
While instructing, the DDC stressed on the department and executing agency to complete the ongoing building projects at an earliest including other whose documents have been finalized.
Regarding UPS Sundgali for which 27 lakhs have been sanctioned, the executing agency was directed to start the work without any delay.
Laying stress on monitoring, the DDC also directed the concerned officers to pay visits jointly on the spots and resolve all disputes and other issues confronting buildings works.
The meeting was attended by ACR Vevaik Puri, CPO Uttam Singh, CEO Mohd Shrief, ADs, XEn R&B, BDO Ramban and other concerned.
