22 companies participate in Srinagar Job Mela; 24 youth provided on-spot offer letters

SRINAGAR: In an endeavour to provide a convenient platform to the educated unemployed youth and to facilitate their interaction with the Private Companies and Employers for Training, Skilling and placement, District Employment & Counseling Centre (DE&CC) Srinagar on Wednesday organised a one day Job Fair at Kashmir Govt. Polytechnic Gogji Bagh, Srinagar here.
The Job fair was inaugurated by Director Employment J&K Nisar Ahmad Wani, in presence of Deputy Director Employment, DE&CC Srinagar Dr. Sheeba Inayat.
Around 22 Private Companies and Skill Development Organisations operating in varied sectors and fields including M/S Zaydaan Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd, M/S Dominos Pizza, M/S Wishfin Pvt. Ltd,M/S Continental Heating and Air conditioning system, M/S R.S Profiling Pvt. Ltd, M/S ALBA Power Pvt. Ltd, M/S Hotel Four Points by Sheraton, M/S Janta Joinery, M/S DG Power Systems, LIC, Himalayan Motors,Mahindra Shuhul,Amco Automobiles, M/S Rooman Technologies etc. participated in the event.
Resource Persons from government line departments including District Industries Centre and Women Development Corporation also disseminated the information about their respective schemes and programmes.
The event saw an overwhelming response from the Job seekers and companies. Director Employment visited the stalls and interacted with the participating youth and representatives of private companies.
While addressing the youth, Director Employment emphasised upon them to come out of the traditional mind set up and participate in such kinds of events to extend their horizons of vision and wisdom. He further briefed the audience about the options available in private sector, public sector and incentivized schemes under the self employment sector.
The CEO’s/Managing Directors and representatives of the participating private sector establishments also spoke on the occasion and acquainted the participants regarding the job opportunities, skill development and employment oriented courses offered by these companies.
24 Unemployed youth were provided on spot offer letters, 617 fresh registrations were made and 337 candidates were shortlisted for the next rounds.
The Programme was moderated by Career Counselling Officer, DE&CC Srinagar.
The Job seekers expressed their satisfaction and thanked organisers of the event for providing them a suitable platform to interact with the Job providers.
