DODA: A meeting to review the progress of unique and vital Aadhar Card Scheme to provide unique Bio-Metric linked identification cards was convened by the District Development Commissioner Doda, Shyam Vinod Meena.
The card will be used for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiaries, besides can also be used for Universal Identification across the country.
During the meeting, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Doda Yassir Balwan revealed that the National Population Registrar Centres to capture the Bio-Metrics of all the remaining people, who were left out from round first and second under the National Population Registrar (NPR), will be opened at each Tehsil headquarters in the district for ensuring cent per cent enrolment of the people in NPR.
He informed that in six centres established across the district, against a target of 3, 71,243 enrolments till date 2,15,491 people have been enrolled which aggregates to about 52.57 per cent. He also informed that instructions have been conveyed to all the Sub-District Registrars and Tehsildars to keep a room ready for Bio-Metrics Centre within the Tehsil premises where BME operation would start immediately to wrap up the remaining work of NPR in the district.
Expressing concern over the slow progress of enrolment by COM Tech. Info-Solution Pvt. Ltd, the DDC directed the concerned agency to submit a copy of agreement with the government so that the sufficient facilities may be provided to them by the government officers/ officials as per the agreement. He also asked the concerned to strictly adhere to the deadline of March 2015 for ensuring full Aadhar Card coverage.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Imam Din, Tehsildars, Executive Officer Municipality Doda, besides other officers also attended the meeting.
