21 bovines rescued in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: Police on Wednesday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 21 bovines from the clutches of the smuggler. According to a report, a police party of Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Udhampur O.P Chib laid a Naka at Jakheni Chowk under the supervision of SSP Udhampur Dr Shalinder Mishra.
During the Naka, police intercepted a truck (JK12A-3085) and found it loaded with 21 bovines which were being smuggled towards Kashmir. However driver of the vehicle fled from the spot leaving the truck. All the bovines were rescued and a case vide FIR No 379 /2016 under relevant section was registered.
