206th Louis Braille Day celebrated

JAMMU: The 206th birth day of Louis Braille was organised by Social Welfare Department (SWD) in the premises of Residential School for Blind, Roopnagar, here on Sunday.
Various cultural activities including skits, dramas, songs and comedies, were presented by blind children on the occasion.
People across different walks of life including visually handicapped community and SWD officials were present on the occasion.
Director SWD Jammu, M.S Choudhary was the Chief Guest who was welcomed by Superintendent of the School, Mohit Bharti.
The Chief Guest, in his address, hailed the activities of the school and assured his full co-operation in raising the standard of the school.
Inmates of the school, Rahul Kumar and Rohit Kumar were presented mementoes for their excellent performance in education and sports respectively. District Social Welfare Officer (DSWO) Jammu, Kulraj Singh presented vote of thanks.
