SRINAGAR: Within a week of the death of three soldiers and a militant in an encounter on the LOC in Tangdar, Army on Sunday killed two militants in a fierce gun battle at Nard, in the same sector in North Kashmir.
Official sources told STATE TIMES that troops on patrol duty ambushed a group of the infiltrating militants. Two militants were claimed to have been killed by the security forces. Sources said that that a thick reinforcement rushed to the spot and extended the search operation to a vast area. Troops claimed that three more militants of the group got trapped.
An official source said: “Our cordon-and-search operation is in progress. We are sure that three more militants of the group are tightly trapped”.
