RAJOURI: Police on Sunday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing two bovines and arresting two smugglers at Sunderbani.
According to a report, Rajouri Police led by SHO Police Station Sunderbani Inspr. Chaman Gorkha under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera Surgan Shukla, laid a Naka at Kund, Sunderbani on a specific information.
During Naka checking, police arrested two smugglers who were carrying two bovine animals from Akhnoor to Rajouri by foot. On questioning the said persons failed to give satisfactory reply and were nabbed by police for smuggling bovines without permission .
The arrested smugglers were identified as Yash Pal son of Sita Ram and Ashwani Kumar son of Kange Lal both residents of Akhnoor. A case under FIR 39/2015 section 188RPC 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Sunderbani.
