PATNITOP: Continuing its special drive against the drug peddlers, police on Saturday arrested two persons and recovered 3.300 gram poppy straw from their possession.
According to a report, acting on a specific information, a party of Police Post Patnitop led by SI Ankuj Kumar, In-Charge Police Post under the supervision of Mohd Rafiq, Dy.SP Hqrs Ramban and Randeep Kumar, SSP Ramban laid a special Naka at Patnitop and intercepted one Tavera bearing registration No. JK02 AP – 0398 on its way towards Jammu.
During the search of the vehicle, police recovered 3.300 kg poppy straw concealed in Poly bags.
Driver Liaqat Ali son of Munshi Ram resident of Kandi District Rajouri and co-driver Kadir son of Mohd Sharief resident of Bakori District Rajouri were arrested. A case under FIR No. 48/2015 section 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Batote.
