1st round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation on Jan 18

SAMBA: A meeting of District Task Force Committee regarding first round of Intensified Pulse Polio immunisation (IPPI) was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Samba Mubarak Singh.
While speaking on the occasion DDC emphasised on cent percent coverage in the first IPPI round and asked all members to work in coordination. He further stressed upon officers to educate and aware the masses about the programme and also involve PRI functionaries as they are close to the people and help in implementing these programmes effectively. A team of district officers will be constituted to monitor the whole programme at block level, added DDC.
He also stressed upon the officers that special focus should be given for coverage of high risk areas which include the children living in slums, industries, children of nomads etc.
It is pertinent to mention here that the first round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) is scheduled to be held in the district on 18th January and the second Round of IPPI shall be held on 22nd February, 2015.
Dr. Anju, District Immunisation Officer Samba gave a detailed account of IPPI Plan in respect of the district and stressed upon all the members to cooperate in making this campaign a success.
Earlier, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Kartar Chand apprised the members about the comprehensive strategy and joint action plan to be adopted during the first round of IPPI programme.
Chief Planning Officer Devinder Singh, Chief Medical Officer Samba Dr. Kartar Chand, District Programme Officer, ICDS, Chief Education Officer, Samba, District Social Welfare Officer, Child Development Project Officers, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Anju, besides the members of various NGOs were also present in the meeting.
