DODA: To provide the basic training to the Red Cross volunteers and groups regarding the first aid to be given to the needy person or casualty during any sort of natural disaster, mishap, accident or an emergency, a one day training programme on first aid ( capsule course ) was organised by the J and K State Red Cross Society under the banner of Indian Red Cross Society in DC Office Doda on Monday.
Chairman District Red Cross Society ( Deputy Commissioner ) Doda Shyam Vinod Meena, District Statistics and Evaluation Officer Doda Dr. Yassir Balwan, Chief Planning Officer Doda, besides Chief Education Officer Doda, Superintendent District Hospital Doda, life members of DRCS and volunteers attended the programme.
While speaking on the occasion DC Doda, Chairman DRCS Doda S.V Meena stressed upon the need to strengthen the resources of the organisation in the district and underlined the need for better coordination and communication between the Red Cross volunteer groups for timely and effective functioning of the organisation in the region. He said as the region is prone to mishaps and other natural disasters, there is immediate need to build various Red Cross volunteer groups to deal with any sort of eventuality. He said motivation and facilitation of the volunteer groups is also essential and to build their technical expertise we have to provide them adequate training and equipments to deal with any sort of emergency. Chairman DRCS Doda also said that we must strive for giving direction to youth in selflessly serving the humanity through volunteerism adding that adequate accommodation facility will be provided to the Red Cross in New DC Office Complex Doda.
Ashfaq from J and K State Red Cross Society gave a detailed power point presentation about the first aid programme, besides practical training in first –aid, which included the principles of first-aid, first-aid kit demonstration and its maintenance.
