1,983 aspirants appear in SKUAST-J CET 2016

JAMMU: The Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted Combined Entrance Test (CET) – 2016 on June 26, 2016.
A total of 1,983 students appeared in the entrance test for admission to 215 undergraduate seats in agriculture sciences, veterinary sciences and biotechnology. Compared to CET -2015, there was a rise of 19 per cent students appearing in CET 2016. Girls outnumbered the boys. Percentage of girls appearing in the CET was 62 per cent and boys 38 per cent.
In all 2,169 students had applied for these three undergraduate programmes, and out of which more than 92 per cent of the applicants appeared in the entrance test.
For the last four years SKUAST Jammu is conducting its own CET for admission to the professional undergraduate courses. CET 2016 was held at the SKUAST Jammu campuses at R S Pura and Chatha, and at Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar. The entrance test passed off without any untoward incident. Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST Jammu visited the test centers at Chatha to oversee the conductance of CET and appreciated the arrangements made for the entrance test.
The result of CET-2016 is expected to be announced within a week, said a handout, issued by SKUAST-J.
