If you can’t take heat, get out of kitchen: Harsh

STATE TIMES NEWS
SRINAGAR: Holding the coalition government responsible for the breakdown of the administrative machinery with the virtual collapse of law and order in the state, former Education Minister and Chairman JKNPP Harsh Dev Singh said that the prevalent situation in the valley tantamount to “constitutional failure” within the meaning and scope of section 92 of the J&K constitution.
He said that with Kashmir Valley observing complete shut down for the past 13 days with sporadic incidents of stone pelting, violence, arson, mob unrest etc symbolizing the state of anarchy and the State Government having lost control over the situation.
Representing Panthers Party in All Party Meet convened by Chief Minister in Srinagar, Harsh flayed the BJP in particular for its tall slogans made during the elections for the restoration of peace and normalcy in the State and eliminating terrorism which contrarily had escalated many folds during the last one and a half years.
Singh rebuked the BJP in particular for luring and cajoling the gullible people of Jammu & Kashmir by making fake promises which it never intended to fulfill. He said that BJP had grossly failed to stand to the expectations of the people not only with regard to countering Pakistan and weeding out militancy but also belied the hopes of the electorate of Jammu region who had been promised a moon by its senior leadership including Narendra Modi during the elections. If you can’t take the heat , get out of the kitchen”, a visibly agitated Singh told Sajjad Lone the BJP ally in the Council of Ministers upon the latter accusing him of politicizing the matter and raking up the Jammu centric issues in the All Party Meet.
While commenting on the current state of affairs, Singh said that the ongoing situation in J&K could not be controlled by power of Gun and imposing curfews as the entire valley had been influenced by the dictates of the secessionists and the anti- national elements who are ruling the roost at present.
He said there was no element like governance in the State, and over and above belligerent Pakistan had been issuing open statements that Kashmir was its jugular vein. He said that Pakistan was brazenly demanding plebiscite in the state besides clamouring that J&K was not a part of India. He further divulged that Pakistan sheltered outfits like Jamaat- ud – Dawa, LeT, Hizbul Mujahideen etc. were provoking and inciting the people of Kashmir to rebel against the government to make their grounds before the International community. He wondered that how could the State government remain silent to counter the malicious propaganda unleashed by the people like Hafiz Saeed, Sayeed Salahudeen and company in this crucial times.
Singh took a dig on the BJP for its ridiculous statements. He asked that what happened to the 56 inches chest of Modiji and how could it deflate now when the valley was set on fire by the separatists and Pakistan’s anti -India rants. He disclosed that it was during the sinister BJP-PDP coalition that bizarre incidents of mob attacking the Amarnath pilgrims had come to fore. He ridiculed the BJP’s idea of dropping the bomb in the meeting and advised the Saffron party to desist from making such irresponsible and frivolous remarks.
Singh said that the situation in the State had not worsened due to the killing of Burhan Wani but because of ‘Cumulative effect’ of many detrimental elements working in tandem to destabilize the state and the country. He said that the Chief Minister should discern with caution and analyze with care as to who was responsible for the current mayhem. He further cautioned that people of Jammu were also outraged by the pusillanimous and treacherous surrenders of the BJP and the similar situation could erupt with explosion there as well. He said that simmering anger of the people could become ‘volcanic’ if their genuine aspirations like delimitation of Assembly constituencies, PRC rights to the daughters marrying outside the State, Granting PRC rights to West Pak refugees, Adequate one time settlement package for the POJK refugees, Dogra certificate for the Jammu youth, Regularization of services of daily wagers, contractual/ adhoc employees working in various government departments, beautification of Jammu region etc were not fulfilled in letter and spirit. Balwant Singh Mankotia said that internet ban was not the solution to curb the situation and maintained that with cross- plying of trucks, buses and commercial transport between Jammu and Kashmir regions had come to stand still it could further aggravate the problem and adversely affect the business and trade all across the State. He said that traders and transporters would be affected at large which could hit the overall economy of the state.
