New Delhi: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed the state’s law-and-order situation.
During the 30-minute meeting, they discussed ways to bring back normalcy and peace in Jammu and Kashmir which is in turmoil following killing of Hizbul Mujahideen militant Burhan Wani in an encounter.
Omar also requested that the security forces should be asked to exercise maximum restraint while dealing with protestors, sources said.
He thanked Singh for sending a team of doctors to the Valley for treatment of those injured in the violent protests against Wani’s killing.
