JAMMU: Police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 18 Kg poppy straw from their possession.
According to reports, Gangyal Police laid a Naka at Fawara Chowk and intercepted two persons who were carrying two leather bags.
On seeing the police, both the pedestrians tried to flee from the spot but they were overpowered by the cops. On search of their belongings, police recovered 18 Kg Bhukki from their possession. On further questioning both of them disclosed that they had brought the consignment from Kashmir.
In this regard, police registered a case under relevant sections at Police Station Gangyal. Further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the destination of this consignment.
The recovery was made by Inspector Aejaz Wani and SI Tariq Ahmed Incharge Police Post Greater Kailash under the supervision of SDPO City South Sachin Gupta and SP City South Shahzad Salaria.
