18 Judicial Officers regularized as District Judges

JAMMU: The High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on Tuesday regularized/confirmed the adhoc appointment on promotion basis of 18 Judicial Officers (JOs) as District Judges.
“Pursuant to the resolution adopted by the Full Court in its meeting held on June 8, 2024, the adhoc appointment on promotion basis as District Judges (Entry Level) of the 18 Judicial Officers, made vide Government Order No. 8630-JK (LD) of 2022 dated October 13, 2022, is confirmed/ regularized against the available posts,” reads an order issued by Shahzad Azeem, Registrar General, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
As per order, the Judicial Officers (JOs) who have been regularized as District Judges include Amarjit Singh Langeh, Sandeep Kour, Amit Kumar Gupta, Sandeep Gandotra, Anoop Kumar, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Arvind Sharma, Yash Pal Sharma, Amit Sharma, Khurshid-ul-Islam, Arti Mohan, Umi Kulsoom, Pawan Kumar Sharma, Iqbal Ahmad Masoodi, Renu Dogra, Sudesh Sharma and Spalzes Angmo.
“The seniority of aforesaid officers in the cadre of District Judge shall be determined on completion of ongoing process for filling up of 12 vacancies of direct quota advertised vide notification No. 03 of 2024/RG/GS dated June 5, 2024,” it stated and added, “Since all the officers have actually worked against the post of District Judges w.e.f. the date of their adhoe appointment as such, the pay being drawn by them stands protected.” “The regularization shall be subject to the outcome of complaint/enquiry/litigation, if any. pending,” it stated.
