DDG NSSO stresses on regular collection of data

JAMMU: Deputy Director General, National Sample Survey Office (NSSO) (FOD), Jammu, R.K Kamra stressed on the need of a strong database and a regular system of collection of data pertaining to different Socio Economic Surveys.
Speaking in a programme organized by NSSO Jammu to celebrate the 10th Statistics Day, here on Wednesday, Kamra presented a brief life sketch of late Prof. P.C Mahalanobis.
He also spoke about the importance of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare in the economic development of the country. He appealed to the masses in general to come forward and extend their co-operation to the field staff of NSSO (FOD) in collection of data. The theme for the Statistics Day 2016 was “Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare”. Earlier, the function started with lighting of lamp and paying tributes to Prof. P.C Mahalanobis.
Other officers who spoke on the occasion include HO, NSSO (FOD), Jammu, P.N. Pandita, AD Srinagar, S.L Khajuria, B.S Bhan, Hem Raj Sharma, R.K Sharma, Rajesh Kumar, Naresh Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Kulvinder Singh and Amrik Singh.
The participants who delivered their lectures were presented mementos and honorarium by R.K. Kamra.
The vote of thanks was presented by B.S Bhan, NSSO (FOD), Jammu.
