UDHAMPUR: Wrestler Benia Min of J and K Police and Wrestler Parveen Bholla of Chand Roop Akhara Delhi shared the Eighth Annual Udhampur Kawa Dangal title that took place at Government High School Kawa, here on Friday.
Both the wrestlers were jointly awarded cash prize of Rs 51,000 by President J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sarpanch Durga Dass Padha.
Dangal was organised by Kawa Dangal Committee in collaboration with J and K Indian Style Wrestling Association. In all, 38 bouts were played.
Contractor Raj Kumar Gupta contributed Rs 21,000 as financial assistance to the organisers.
Joint Secretary J and K State Sports Council, Shiv Kumar Sharma, who is also Treasurer Indian Style Wrestling Association of India, Associate Vice President Wrestling Federation of India and President Senior Citizens Welfare Forum, was the Chief Guest who distributed cash prizes among the winner wrestlers.
Contractor Raj Kumar Gupta and wrestling promoter Ram Paul Sharma were the Guests of Honour.
The second main bout was won by Sumit of Delhi who defeated Ajay Sharma of Landen Power House Udhampur. Third bout was won by Ishaq (Lallu) of Bajrangi Akhara Jammu who defeated Tinku of Rohtak in Harayana. Fourth bout was won by Chinni of UP who defeated Talaf of Mallerkotla in Punjab.
Members and technical officials who helped for the conduct of this wrestling event included Sapanch Durga Dass Padha, Rajinder Singh Katoch, Yog Raj Singh Katoch, Hukam Chand Numberdar, Sat Paul Sharma, Kewal Khajuria, Sudesh Numberdar, Krishan Lal Verma, Mohan Lal Sharma, (Headmaster) Vijay Kumar Sharma, Sheikher Sharma, Gurmeet Singh, Raj Mohd. Basant Ram Numberdar, Yash Khajuria, Sanjeev Sharma, Om Parkash Verma, Krishan lal Sharma, Vijay Singh (Bijju), Lashman Singh Katoch, Deepak Anand, Virender Badyal, Murli Dhar (Munna), Ashok Garg of Haryana and Mohd Fareed.
