JAMMU: Journalist Association (India ) Jammu and Kashmir Branch on Sunday demanded a press enclave in Jammu on the pattern of Srinagar press enclave and concession for journalist fraternity in air, rail and road travel.
Presiding over the meeting of the association, its President Daya Ram Daya hailed the government for announcing Rs. 2 crore for the welfare of journalists of the State. While deliberating on the issues pertaining to journalists, he urged Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu to give nod to the establishment of Press Conclave in Jammu on the lines of Srinagar
Press conclave providing flats or housing colony to journalists on reasonable rates.
Besides, association also appealed for fare concession to journalists while travelling through air, rail or bus, honourarium for working journalists (Accredited / Non Accredited), and pension particularly to Accredited journalists on the pattern of Uttarakhand State.
Rajinder Vijay Magotra and Surinder Sagar Vice-Presidents of the association, Anubhav Suri General Secretary, Pardeep Sharma Joint Secretary, Rajinder Bhagat, Advocate Kapil Sharma Spokesperson and Legal Advisor, and others were also present.
