JKGBY Desh threatens agitation

GUJJARS RESENT LAL SINGH’S threat

STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Seeking appropriate action against Forest Minister Lal Singh for his controversial remarks on community, Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Youth Desh (JKGBYD) on Thursday threatened to observe Jammu Bandh.
Addressing a press conference, State President JKGBYD, Choudhary Nazakat Khatana expressed his dismay over the outburst of Forest Minister against the community. He said that the episode clearly indicated that Cabinet Minister has gone astray from the promised developmental agenda and is hell-bent to disturb the camaraderie and communal bonhomie prevailing in the State since ages. He however rued that despite repeated attempts, police is not registering an FIR against the minister for his statement having potential to flare up communal tension and disturb the tranquility in the region.
The controversy had erupted after Choudhary Lal Singh while interacting with a deputation of farmers including some Gujjars, allegedly made a remark on massacre of Muslims in Jammu during 1947. The statement of Lal Singh didn’t go well with the Muslim community and several organizations of the community have lambasted the minister for his alleged communal remark.
Others present in the press conference included Choudhary Teag Ali, Choudhary Naid Ali, Mushtaq, Choudhary Altaf Hussain, Sajad and Molve Ahmad Hussain.
