 STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Expressing anguish over the successive State Governments for not appointing a Sikh community member as a Judge in the J and K High Court for the last more than 30 years, Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal), J and K, demanded from the present government that name of a member from the community be included in the panel for appointment as a Judge in J and K High Court.
Talking to reporters, General Secretary SAD (B), Surinder Singh Wazir said that Sikh community was in the forefront to support the ruling alliance in the last Assembly election with the hope that the interests of the community shall be safeguarded.
Moreover, he said, the BJP had promised that due share of the community shall be given in all aspects but none of the issues concerning Sikh community have been addressed so far. He demanded from the present government to appoint a member from the Sikh community in the panel for appointment as a Judge in J and K High Court as there is no dearth of honest, competent and deserving candidates in the Sikh fraternity.
