JAMMU: Police on Sunday arrested four gamblers along with stake money of over Rs. 2600 near Government Medical College Bakshi Nagar here.
They have been identified as Vishal, 20, son of Ravi Kumar, Vicky, 30, son of Shadi Lal, Goldy Verma 18, son of Sanjay Verma and Goutam Verma, son of Sanjay Verma, all residents of Bakshi Nagar.
A case under the Gambling Act has been registered at Bakshi Nagar Police Station and further investigations are on.
On another tip- off, a wanted accused in case FIR No.32/2016 under Section 420, 467, 468, 379 and 34 RPC, has been arrested from Shant Nagar area. The accused namely Jyot Swaroop, son of Dhuni Das, resident of House No. 2188/D Shiv Nagar Jammu was evading arrest since last three months. He along with an accomplice who is still at large has duped many people. The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO West Sugandha Mahajan and Incharge SP City North Romesh Kotwal.
