NHM Employees’ Association becomes EJAC constituent

SRINAGAR: The National Health Mission (NHM) Employees’ Association on Thursday formally became a constituent of the Employees’ Joint Action Committee (EJAC).
As per a statement, senior office bearers of the NHM Employees’ Association including President Shaheen Nawaz and Vice President Altaf Ahmad met EJAC President Abdul Qayoom Wani and pledged allegiance to the EJAC.
“We are now affiliates of the EJAC. Wani assured to forcefully take up our issues with the government including initiation of regularisation process”, the Association members said in a statement.
“We hope that by coming under the larger umbrella of EJAC, our issues will be highlighted and redressed in a more effective manner. The decision has been taken unanimously by the Association members”, it added.
The NHM is a centrally funded scheme with more than 8000 doctors, managerial staff and paramedics currently working in different hospitals of the State under the Mission.
They have been demanding regularisation of services, enhancement of wages at par with other State, removal of salary disparity and provision of different social security benefits.
