Cable laying not to affect traffic on National Highway: DC

RAMBAN: Cable laying contractors have to supervise their work of digging on the National Highway very carefully and ensure no inconvenience is caused to smooth vehicular movement and general public.
This was instructed by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz while chairing a meeting with company representatives and cable contractors in his office chamber today. He said that the motorable part of NH at many locations have been shrunk due to mismanagement of rubble and debris.
While making reference of the upcoming Darbar Move and Shree Amarnath Ji Yatra, DC impressed upon the contractors and company representatives to apply such methods for digging by which NH remains unaffected and free from any hindrance.
Stressing on broken patches of NH already responsible traffic jams and slow vehicular movement, DC asked the contractors not to proceed further before proper filling up of 200 meters stretch dug for laying cable wires.
DC also asked the contractors to adhere to all terms and conditions of contract agreement signed with National Highways Authority of India. Any type of violation will attract legal action, he added while sounding a cautioning note to them.
Among others the meeting was also attended by Area Manager Reliance JIO Rajesh Kumar, Assistant Manager Ericsson Saleem Raza, Sterlite Technician Ajai Chib and various contractors. Earlier, Assistant Manager Ericsson informed that out of 13 km stretch from Patnitop to Darmoond, four km stands completed in all respect and work of digging on nine km shall be completed very soon, he said assuring the DC for complete supervision of the digging work.
