Fine of Rs 33,300 realised from 32 erring traders

RAMBAN: On the directions of District Development Commissioner, Ramban Mohammad Aijaz officers conducted market checking at Ramban, Banihal, Sangaldan, Khari and Batote and realised Rs 33,300 from erring traders.
A joint team lead by Tehsildar Ramban, Gurpreet Singh comprising EO (MC) Ramban, Zubaida Parveen TSO Ramban, Abdul Khalik, Naib Tehsildar, and Police carried out a surprise checking in the Cafeteria Market, Bus stand, Main bazaar, Upper bazaar, Masjid market, Bouli bazaar.
During the inspection, Rs.12300 was realised as fine from the 32 defaulters by checking squad. Besides seizing 10 kg of banned polythene carry bags and two domestic LPG cylinders from the shopkeepers they also destroyed 50 kg rotten vegetables.
According to Tehsildar Khari, Tanveer ul Majid during the checking Rs 3100 and Rs 1000 was realised in Khari and Banihal respectably from the erring traders. In the meantime 450 kg rotten vegetables and fruits were destroyed.
Similar checking was also were undertaken in Sangaldan (Gool) by the Tehsildar Gool, Niaz Ahmed Wani where Rs. 6600 fine recovered from 15 defaulters and an amount of Rs.10300 as penalty imposed on 39 earring shopkeepers besides seizing four domestic LPG cylinder and destroyed 2 quintals of rotten vegetable in Batote by the checking Teams lead by Naib Tehsildar Saifullah Shah and EO MC Batote.
Shopkeepers were warned to desist from using this banned material which could attract a penalty. Shopkeepers, dabawales and vendors ware directed to maintain hygiene and quality of eatables and also ensure display of Price list. Public was also made aware about the health hazards of polythene carry bags which may contain various harmful chemicals.
