JAMMU: The All Jammu Province Daily Wager/Casual/Need Based Union Workers of Power Development Department, serving in different divisions of electrical maintenance and system and operating wing, started ‘Kaam Choro Hartaal’ on Tuesday to protest the non-release of their dues.
A large number of PDD daily wagers under the supervision of union president Arvind Sharma assembled in front of the office of the Divisional Commissioner, Power, at Janipur and raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Speaking on the occasion, Arvind said that that the casual/need based workers had completed seven years of service but their demands had not been fulfilled till date.
Their demands include allocation of wage head for the casual/need based workers of Electrical Maintenance and Rural Electrification Wing, PDD, regularisation of daily wagers with seven years of service, constitution of DPC, removal of stay on Tech. 3rd by the ITI Union, regularization policy for casual/need based workers of EM and RE and S and O Wing, conversion to PDL/TDL to casual/need based workers and removal and clearance of salary gap in Vijaypur EM&RE Division-PDD.
Others spoke on the occasion, Akhil Sharma, Sanjeev, Gul Mohd Bhat, Bharat Singh, Shesh Kumar, Sham Sharma and Swami Raj.
