Param FC loses in QFs of Football

JAMMU: One of the top clubs of Jammu, Param FC, in an exciting and thrilling match of the All India Challenge Football Tournament at Ratlam, lost in a tie breaker 4-3 against a strong opponent of TFA Ratlam, after making it goalless in the stipulated time.
Earlier, as per the reports reaching here, Param FC dominated the play from the word go with maximum possession and multiple attacks. Team was denied of two clear penalties in first 10 minutes as everything seemed to favour the home team.
Entire match saw Param FC in the opposite half with ball just not willing to enter the opposite nets although the forwards managed to penetrate the defence almost every time but just could not get past the goal keeper of the hosts.
Unaffected by the massive support, Param kept up the tempo with some strategic positional changes in second half with ex-JCT and Lone star player being pushed in attack from half. But luck didn’t favour the odds and he too missed chance after chance to finish. Ultimately hosts were relieved with final whistle as match ended scoreless.
Parvinder Kalsi made a brilliant save in the very first penalty of the tiebreaker. But the team could not take advantage of this and missed the third and fourth penalty neither could the goalkeeper sustain the tremendous pressure and conceded all other penalities.
Arun, Saurav and Brijender netted their penalities while Arjun and Pradeep failed to score hence loosing the match and ending this ambitious attempt to imprint the name of this club in the hearts of people outside J and K.
Spectators appreciated Gagandeep Singh for his extraordinary defensive game play and appreciated his thrilling goal to goal runs with ball outpacing every opposition player. Skipper, Arun Naghial played well in center with Brijender Kumar and Ravi Rana supporting him throughout.
The Club, being a new and upcoming club from Jammu has surely performed and will hopefully motivate other clubs from Jammu to compete outside state to give exposure to players of the city and prove that boys from Jammu also can play at a level otherwise regarded higher by state football majors.
