JAMMU: Police on Monday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered large quantity of intoxicating capsules and banned syrup bottles from their possession.
On specific information, police party of Bahu Fort Police Station established a Naka at Narwal Chowk and intercepted a car bearing No JK02AL/2298. During checking, 6,500 intoxicating capsules and 65 bottles of banned syrup were recovered from the car.
The accused has been identified as Rajbeer Singh, son of Shubh Karam Singh, resident of Baramulla, at present Nanak Nagar, Jammu and Smeer Ahmed Mir, son of Abdul Khalid Meer, resident of Baramulla Kashmir.
In this connection, a case vide FIR No. 51/16 under Sections 8, 21 and 22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Bahu Fort. During questioning, the drug peddlers revealed that consignment was brought from outside the State for sale among the youth in Jammu district.
